Affordable housing and social housing have recently been major topics of discussion, dominating the headlines, recent political and social commentary and the October 2022 Federal Budget. While the importance of social and affordable housing cannot be understated, finding the right solutions is proving to be difficult.

Facilitated by Malcolm Roberts, the panel from this session, Robert Pradolin, Katrina Reye and Michael Taylor-Sands discusses:

  • Australia’s social and affordable housing challenge
  • The difference between affordable housing and social housing and why they are both problems that require different solutions; and
  • How good tax policy may open the door to some practical solutions for both social and affordable housing.
