This paper will consider recent cases and rulings, including:

  • Australian tax case law which has been determined in the Federal Court, Full Federal Court and High Court between January and December 2022, including an analysis of the win-loss percentage;
  • Case law from other Commonwealth jurisdictions that is industry relevant and that may be persuasive in Australia; and
  • Recent rulings and guidance from the Australian Taxation Office that is of significance to the financial services industry.
