Have you been confronted by an ethical dilemma and been seeking guidance as to how to solve it? Ethical dilemmas are often not solved by ‘the rules’ or they may force a decision between two ‘seemingly bad outcomes’.

This session delved into the issues, the considerations, the obligations and how to best solve for these problems, including:

  • How to identify an ethical issue;
  • How to navigate the professional standards and obligations as a registered tax agent, Chartered Accountant, CPA and/or lawyer – the key principles
  • The role of AI – ethical considerations
  • How to approach to solve ethical issues – some practical guidance
  • Duties of confidentiality and acting with integrity
  • Knowing your role, your client and your responsibilities and;
  • Evaluation, documentation and termination.
