This session covers an outline and analysis of the recent case of Hannover Life Re of Australasia Ltd v Commissioner of Taxation [2023] FCA 680, examining its impact for taxpayers in the financial services sector. The session will also include a lookback over some of the key observations and trends which have emerged from the ATO’s Combined Assurance Review (CAR) program in the Financial Services and Insurance (FSI) Industry, following the ATO’s renewed focus on building a pathway to justified trust for Top 100 and Top 1000 FSI clients.
