To Buy Back Or Not To Buy Back? That Is The Question!

One possible "benefit" of a declining economy is the opportunity provided for companies to consider the implementation of appropriate capital management policies, which necessarily includes the possibility of undertaking share buy-backs. While off-market buy-backs may be considered by both listed and unlisted companies, no consideration of the merits of a buy-back would be complete without having regard to the recent views of the Commissioner and the Board of Taxation.
