Sam is a Director in EY’s Financial Services Office, with a deep expertise in Insurance. Sam has 18 years’ experience providing international tax advice within large multinational groups and the Big 4. Having started his career in Melbourne focusing on M&A and Transaction Tax, Sam recently returned from over 12 years in the UK where he worked predominately for AIG within their tax advisory function. Sam recently leads the EMEA tax advisory function for AIG and has been involved in numerous restructures, capital and financial management projects and M&A projects across Europe and the US. Sam also leads AIG’s international tax policy function and has been actively involved in the lobbying efforts from insurance and financial services in respect of BEPS 2.0. Through involvement with several industry bodies, Sam has actively engaged with the OECD, US and UK Treasury and European finance ministries on BEPS 2.0.
