The Hon. Murray Gleeson AC QC recently retired after 10 years as the country's top judge. Prior to his appointment as Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia, Murray Gleeson was Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. With a strong belief that the proper administration of justice is a part of civilised government, Justice Gleeson implemented major reforms to the administration of the Courts, resulting in increased efficiency.
