Laurence has been with the ATO for 20 years. His current role involves managing capital gains tax risk within the Public Groups and International taxpayers segment. He has been involved with the foreign resident capital gains withholding measure since 2015, through the consultation process in designing the enabling legislation and as part of the project lead team designing the ATO’s implementation of this measure. His previous roles have involved auditing large and multinational businesses, and providing assistance to individuals and small businesses to understand and meet their Australian tax obligations.
