Karl is a Director of KPMG’s Indirect Tax Practice in Sydney and leads the GST offering in real property and infrastructure. Prior to joining KPMG, Karl was Head of Indirect Tax at Stockland, Australia’s largest diversified property group where he was involved in providing day-to-day transactional GST advice regarding acquisitions, restructurings and financing in relation to various major property and trust transactions across the Stockland Group. Karl is a member of the Large Business Advisory Group (LBAG), and the current Chair of the Property Council of Australia’s National GST Subcommittee (where he also sits on the Retirement Living Tax Committee), and through this membership has been involved in lobbying on a number of GST issues.
