Joanna is a Director in the Melbourne office of PwC. She joined PwC in June 2022 as part of PwC’s acquisition of Greenwoods & Herbert Smith Freehills. Joanna joined Greenwoods & Herbert Smith Freehills in 2011 prior to which she was a solicitor at affiliated global law firm, Herbert Smith Freehills. She works with clients on a wide range of Australian corporate tax issues, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity raisings and capital management issues, with a particular focus on the banking and finance sector. Joanna’s experience includes developing and reviewing the initial structure of transactions, drafting and negotiating the tax aspects of transaction documents, engaging with the ATO and seeking private and class rulings on behalf of clients and advising on post-transaction implementation and ongoing tax issues. Joanna is a solicitor admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria and holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Master of Laws (Taxation) from the University of Melbourne.
