Chris was appointed Commissioner of Taxation from 1 January 2013. Chris has extensive experience in advisory roles to business and both sides of Government on tax policy and implementation issues. Chris has previously held the roles of Chairman of the Board of Taxation and the Business Tax Working Group, Chairman of the Committee for Sydney, Board Member of the Bell Shakespeare Company and the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. He was formerly NSW Chairman of KPMG until his retirement in 2012. Chris is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and The Tax Institute. Chris has a Master of Laws (Sydney) and Bachelors of Commerce and Law (UNSW).
