Our story
The Tax Institute is the leading forum for the tax community in Australia. We are committed to furthering tax education, representing our members, and continuously improving the tax system for the benefit of all.
The Tax Institute was established in 1943 with the aim of educating tax professionals and improving the position of tax agents, tax law and administration. More than seven decades later, our membership of almost 11,000 includes tax professionals from commerce and industry, academia, government and public practice throughout Australia. Educating the profession’s up-and-coming leaders, making connections, supporting members, and advocating on important tax issues are all key to what we do.

About Higher Education
HEPCO Pty Ltd, trading as The Tax Institute Higher Education is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Tax Institute. It was established as a Higher Education Provider to deliver the Graduate Diploma of Applied Tax Law and is accredited by the Tertiary Education and Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA).
We are committed to providing quality education that enables students to acquire the knowledge and skills to effectively navigate the Australian tax ecosystem. Students learn from practising tax professionals and study real-life case studies that enable them to flourish in their careers.

Our Councils & Committees are made up of subject matter experts from around the tax profession. They ensure the high calibre of tax technical information that is delivered to you.
