CTA2 Advanced offered by The Tax Institute is an intermediate course providing you with a solid platform on which to build your industry experience and knowledge.

CTA2 Advanced also provides exemptions for both the Chartered Accountants CA Program Tax Module and CPA Australia’s Advanced Taxation segment.

CTA2 Advanced contributes to the two-semester Course in Australian Taxation Law as approved by the TPB to help you meet the commercial law compotent of the education requirements for registering as a tax agent (conditions apply).

CTA2 Advanced contributes to 30 hours of structured CPD.

Entry requirements

To enrol in CTA2 Advanced, candidates are required to:

  • hold current membership of The Tax Institute; and
  • have at least 12 months’ relevant experience in Australian taxation, accounting or law as supported by a professional referee; and
  • have successfully passed The Tax Institute’s CTA1 Foundations assessment; or
  • have successfully passed an undergraduate tax subject from an accredited education provider in the last 12 months as supported by a transcript or qualification certificate.
